How to apply

1. Local Students

Stage 1: Registration and Application Form
During this step students are required to purchase login password directly to the admission desk at Rektorat UNMER Malang as well as at BRI (the official bank chosen by UNMER Malang). Next, they must submit their personal data online and log the required documents through the following link www.unmer.ac.id.

Stage 2: Admission Pathways
Students who successfully register and submit their documents will receive a receipt informing whether they are granted non-test pathway or test pathway.

The students who are granted non-test pathway should proceed to data authentication and fee finalization at admission desk, Rektorat UNMER Malang (center office).

On the other hand, those who are accepted through test pathway must attend the test as scheduled by the university. For local students who have easy access to the test center must attend and confirm their attendance in the official test center provided by the university. However, those who are located remote from the test center they can apply for online test. The test center is located in Universitas Merdeka Malang.

The successful candidates who passed the test will proceed to the next step, that is document authentication and fee finalization at admission desk, Rektorat UNMER Malang (center office).

Step 3: Document Authentification
All the successful candidates will be given an acceptance receipt either from non-test or test pathway to be used for further admission procedures.

The candidates must attend the authentication at Rektorat UNMER Malang (center office) by showing their acceptance receipt to the admission staffs, then the authentication process may begin.

Step 4: Fee Finalization
The tuition and other fees are payable right after the authentication process is successfully accomplished.

Step 5: Student ID and Alumni Coat
The students can proceed to claim for Student ID and Alumni coat by showing their fee receipt (student her/himself must attend during the claim).

2. International Students

Step 1: Applying for a place in a program
Applying for a place in a program(s) you wish to study. Firstly, you must purchase login password in BRI (a bank chosen by UNMER Malang). The purchase will be conducted through transfer and the bank staffs will assist the students to apply online. Additionally, online application and document submission can be done through this link www.unmer.ac.id.

Step 2: Your application is assessed
Once we have received your online application, we will check that you have provided all the details and assess whether you meet the requirements for the proposed area of study, and whether there is a place available for you. We will do this as quickly as possible, but this can sometimes take a little while as the application may need to be reviewed by a number of people. You can assist by ensuring that you have answered all questions and provided all necessary information and documents to support your application.

Step 3: Review your letter of Offer
Successful applicants will receive from international admissions, an offer of a place and acceptance document, which will provide information on the tuition fees, student financial aid, health insurance fees, the date of commencement of the program of the study. If an application is unsuccessful, applicants will receive an explanatory letter. Successful applicants will receive either an unconditional or conditional letter of offer. You must meet all conditions specified on your letter of offer prior to receiving your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

Step 4: Payment of fees
In order to accept the offer of a place in a program, you are required to pay a deposit in advance. The payment should be in the form of an international bank draft/cheque made payable to The University of Merdeka Malang. You may also pay by credit card or electric funds transfer (EFT).

The bank draft/cheque can either be sent directly to international admission at the university with your acceptance forms or may be given to an official representative (agent) of the university in your country. Once payment has been received by the the University, you will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), Which is required for completing your application for a student visa at the Overseas or Indonesian Visa Office in your country.

Step 5: Applying for a student visa
In order to apply for a student visa at an Overseas or Indonesian Visa Office, you will need to obtain a student visa application form, either from the Indonesian Diplomatic Post or an official overseas representative of the university in your country.

You will need to complete all relevant sections of the student visa application form and attach and submit all relevant documentation and visa application fee. For further information visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s website at www.imigrasi.go.id.

Step 6: List of required documents
1. Recommendation letter from the first vice rector.
2. Recommendation letter from embassy from student’s home country.
3. Certified copy of diploma and transcript (translated in Indonesia/English).
4. Copy of passport.
5. CV.
6. Statement letter of unwillingness to work in Indonesia during study program.
7. Statement letter of willingness to obey the Indonesian legal regulation.
8. Sponsor letter from the party who takes responsible toward students study enrollment.
9. Financial statement.
10. Health statement published by the authorized hospital.
